4 killed in crashes across state

A 25-year-old woman was killed in an early morning crash Thursday in Little Rock, police said.

Police found a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on its side with the roof of the car against a tree in a yard at 2500 Fair Park Boulevard at 4:14 a.m. Teaira Galloway, the driver, was dead when police arrived.

A Benton man was also killed Thursday morning in a car crash in Saline County, authorities there said.

Tyler Hice, 22, lost control of his car leaving the north roadway edge of Steel Bridge Road, the Saline County sheriff's office said in a news release. The sheriff's office said Hice apparently tried to regain control, but the vehicle skidded and left the roadway south of Steel Bridge Road, hit two wooden fence posts and then flipped several times.

A bicyclist from Texas was killed in a crash with a car Monday in Benton County, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Johnny Bennett, 41, from Snyder, Texas, was riding east on U.S. 62 at Sugar Creek Road in front of a car at about 6:15 p.m.

The car, the year and model of which were not listed in the report, tried to drive around the bicyclist. Bennett then veered into the car, the report said.

At the time of the crash the weather was clear and roads were dry.

A two-vehicle crash in Newport in Jackson County killed a New Jersey man Thursday morning, according to a state police report.

David Levant, 50, from Emerson, N.J., was driving a 2015 Honda Civic and rear-ended a 1997 Ford pickup parked at the stop sign at Third Street and Arkansas 367, the report said.

Levant was killed and another person was injured but not named in the report. Beginning this month, state police are not releasing the names of survivors in fatal car crashes.

Conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
