Arkansas Achievers

Tristen Stewart, of Beebe High School, has received a Distinguished Scholars Award Scholarship from Arkansas Tech University. Tristen achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in March and plans to pursue a major in computer engineering.

Mary Ballard, of North Little Rock High School, has received a Kenneth M. Smith Scholarship. Mary is a member of the JAG Program. She plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and pursue a major in elementary education.

Kendra Dorsey, of Charleston, has received the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society. Dorsey is a business technology student at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.

Matt Reynolds, of Hot Springs Village, has received the Sibylla and Kenneth Peters Memorial Scholarship. He is a senior at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro and plans to enroll in graduate school after he graduates with a Bachelor of Social Science in Education.

Ah-Lexea Criswell, of Conway High School, has received the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship and the Henderson Academic Scholarship at Henderson State University. Ah-Lexea plans to major in pre-dental hygiene.

Caleaha Virgil, of Conway High School, has received the following scholarships to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock: Chancellor Leadership Corp, Arkansas Lottery, Greater Rose of Sharon, Delta Gems, and Choosing to Excel Leadership Scholarship. Caleaha plans to pursue a major in Computer Engineering

The following students were awarded $1,000 scholarships from the Fulton County Fair Foundation:

Tina King, of Salem High School, has exhibited art and photography in the Fulton County Fair and participated in the Fair Horse Show. She has exhibited in the North Central Arkansas District Fair and the Arkansas State Fair. She is president of her class and is an officer of the Beta Club and Student Council.

Dylan York, of Salem High School, has exhibited horticulture and food preparation in the Fulton County Fair, the North Central Arkansas District Fair and the Arkansas State Fair. He is active in several school clubs and assists with the Fulton County Homecoming Festival 5K race each year.

Nicole Foster, of Viola High School, has exhibited in the Fulton County Fair, North Central Arkansas District Fair and the Arkansas State Fair. She has served as a Fulton County Fair Junior Ambassador for five years. She is a member of the Viola Loyal Longhorns 4-H Club and class president.

Corby May, of Viola High School, has shown livestock in the Fulton County Fair and in the North Central Arkansas District Fair. He serves as president of the Viola FFA Chapter, the Viola Student Council, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of the Viola Loyal Longhorns 4-H Club.

Collin Powell, of Mammoth Spring High School, has exhibited woodworking and beef cattle in the Fulton County Fair, the North Central Arkansas District Fair and the Arkansas State Fair. He is president of the Mammoth Spring FFA Chapter and a member of the Beta Club. He plans to pursue a degree in animal science.

Arkansas Achievers is an opportunity to give recognition to Arkansans for their achievements.

Civilian and military achievements are accepted.
