A man named as a suspect in Tuesday's slaying of a Vilonia man has been taken into custody, the Faulkner County sheriff's office said Saturday.
Travis Watson, 44, of Clinton surrendered to Faulkner County deputies Saturday morning, according to reports.
Watson called the sheriff's office about 7:45 a.m. Saturday and said he had nowhere to go, authorities said. He then met deputies at a residence in Pulaski County, where he was taken into custody and transported to the Faulkner County jail.
Watson was sought in the killing of James "Buddy" Land, 49, of Vilonia, whose body was found Tuesday night at 636 Arkansas 287 in the Holland community.
Land was found beaten, with head injuries. He died at the scene.
