BENTONVILLE — A Bethel Heights man was arrested Tuesday in connection with raping a 12-year-old girl.
David Allen Cannaday, 46, was being held Thursday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set. He was booked at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday into the Benton County Jail.
Miguel Cordova, a detective with the Bethel Heights Police Department, began investigating the case after receiving information from a Springdale resource officer, according to a probable cause affidavit. The girl had disclosed being sexually abused by Cannaday to a school counselor, according to court documents.
Prosecutors have not filed a formal rape charge against Cannaday. His arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 20 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
