The robber entered the bank, which is a branch of First National Bank in Paragould, about noon Monday and struck the bank's security camera with a metal pipe, rendering it inoperative, Miller said.

He then walked to a teller and handed him a brown paper sack and a note that asked that he place money in the bag "quickly," Miller said. The teller told police that the man said he had a weapon but did not show it.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The sheriff said witnesses saw him driving on Arkansas 90 in a white Ford Edge SUV.

He is described as a white man wearing denim jeans and a dark, hooded jacket. He also wore a mask and sunglasses, Miller said.

It's the second time the bank in the town of 287 has been robbed in the past four years, Miller said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clay County sheriff's office at (870) 857-6752.
