Arkansas will conduct its first summer camp of the year Saturday, and several in-state and out-of-state prospects will be trying to earn a scholarship offer.

Little Rock Christian running back Damarea Crockett has 11 scholarship offers and is aiming for one from the Hogs.

" I'm going up there on business and business only," Crockett said. "Of course, we all know I'm going to try and get a scholarship."

Crockett, 5-11, 210 pounds, has scholarship offers from Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas State, Memphis, Colorado State and Boise State.

He ran 4.42 seconds on the 40-yard dash at Arkansas' camp last year and hopes for a repeat performance this weekend.

"I know one the main things they want is to see me run my 40 again," Crockett said.

Crockett rushed 144 times for 1,250 yards and 19 touchdowns this past season

"Getting an offer from Arkansas would mean a lot," Crockett said. "I feel like I would be more respected in state and out of state if I had an offer from Arkansas."

HIGH ON HOGS

Texarkana defensive lineman Nick McCann, 6-3, 290, also is on a mission to earn a scholarship offer at the camp.

He knows where he stands with the Razorbacks after talking to tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr.

"They like me, but they're just waiting to see how my grades are," McCann said. "They want to make sure everything is in order before they offer."

McCann has about 10 offers from schools that include Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

McCann was born in Arkansas but moved to Virginia as an infant before moving back about seven years ago.

"I've always wanted to play for Arkansas," said McCann, who became a Razorbacks fan in middle school.

He has a 335-pound bench press and 525-pound squat. McCann plans to attend Texas A&M's camp Sunday but said he would cherish an offer from Arkansas.

"It would mean a lot because my grandpa went to Arkansas," McCann said. "He really likes the Razorbacks."

McCann, who works about 20 hours a week at a local restaurant, said college coaches like his intensity and the way he gets off the ball.

"Usually all of them say I'm really explosive off the ball, and they like how aggressive I am," McCann said.

He will attend Oklahoma's camp June 10 and recently talked to South Carolina.

"I'm going to try and get out there somehow," McCann said.

WAITING FOR OFFER

Memphis Whitehaven defensive lineman Michael Perry has 15 scholarship offers and is confident he'll add No. 16 after he attends Arkansas' camp Saturday.

"I've narrowed it down to four," Perry said of his list. "I'm really waiting on the Arkansas offer, but right now it's Indiana, Missouri and Ole Miss and possibly Arkansas when I pick up the offer."

Perry, 6-2, 330, was impressed that Arkansas had five players taken in the 2015 NFL Draft, including defensive linemen Trey Flowers and Darius Philon.

He also likes defensive line coach Rory Segrest's resume.

"Looking at Coach Segrest and his experience and coaching the position even at the NFL level, who wouldn't want to play for a guy like that?" Perry said.

Perry, whose mother lives in Blytheville, has other family living in Jonesboro and said he looks forward to seeing what Arkansas has to offer.

"Meeting the great stuff, taking a tour of the facilities seeing where I could possibly be the next three to four or five years," Perry said. "Seeing how well I can adapt to the area. Of course being close to my mom's side of the family, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm looking forward to the experience."

He plans to visit Missouri on Monday and Indiana on Tuesday.

BIG WEEKEND

Three major targets of Arkansas' football team and one of the basketball team's targets are expected to visit this weekend.

Highly recruited cornerback Eric Cuffee, 6-0, 188, of Waco, Texas, will check out the Hogs. He has more than 30 scholarship offers from schools that include Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, UCLA, Michigan and Auburn. ESPN rates him the No. 103 overall prospect in the nation.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network said Cuffee's physical talent makes him an elite prospect.

"He has very active, loose hips and can turn and run with swift receivers," Lemming said. "He's a four-star prospect that can play corner or safety."

Safety Deon Edwards, 6-1, 195, of Lake Minneola High School in Florida will arrive today for his visit. He has been offered by 13 schools, including Arkansas, South Carolina, Missouri, Louisville, North Carolina State and South Florida.

Offensive lineman Jake Heinrich, 6-4, 290, of Urbandale, Iowa, is expected to arrive with his parents around noon Saturday. Among the schools that have offered scholarships are Arkansas, Iowa State, Louisville, Kansas State, Illinois, California and Duke.

Basketball center Willy Kouassi, 6-10 1/2, 233, and guardian Darien Knox will arrive around 4 p.m. today for an official visit. Kouassi has been granted a release from Kennesaw State in Georgia and will be eligible to play next season.
