Thanks for utility’s spirit

On Saturday, May 30, of this year the Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland was the beneficiary of some gold “old-fashioned” community service. Approximately 21 Ozarks Electric employees rolled into the cemetery around 9 a.m. with several bucket trucks pulling chippers, stump grinders and loaded with chain saws, pruners and other equipment they might need to get trees into shape throughout the cemetery. These hard-working folk then spent the next eight hours transforming the cemetery into a well-manicured, lovely place of remembrance for many family members. And what great timing, just two weeks before the annual Decoration Day and fundraising.

The following Ozarks Electric employees participated in the community service work day: Renee Mason, Patrick Noggle, Chad Johnson, Curtis Hannah, Chris Coker, Larry Kelly, Cody Slaughter, Hunter Stevens, Joe Beardsley, Bret Nay, Chris Holloway, Dakota Holloway, Clinton Foster, David Jackson, Marvin McCaslin, Tanner Franklin, Brian Kichline, Ryan Spears, Rex Archer, Mike Prater and Mike Henson.

Our heartfelt thanks to all these people who gave their weekend time to work on this project. If you have friends or family at the Baptist Ford Cemetery, we encourage you to give these folks your personal thanks.

It was gratifying to watch these Ozarks employees work in teams to accomplish their goals in such a professional and safe manner. We have had many positive remarks from the cemetery association members about the quality of work done and how clean the cemetery grounds appear.

Special thanks to the directors, management and staff of Ozarks Electric Corp. who encourage this type of community service by providing use of equipment and employee training.

They should be proud of their people. They stand out. On behalf of all board members and association members at the Baptist Ford Cemetery, we say thanks.
