Special to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette -- 02/15/2012 -- Dr. Sean Rochelle has been named executive director of the Razorback Foundation

Sean Rochelle will step down from his position as executive director of the Razorback Foundation effective Sept. 1, the foundation said Thursday.

Rochelle, 48, who served in that role since February 2013 and who joined the foundation in 2008 as an associate director, is leaving to become executive director of Vold Vision, an eye-surgery company based in Fayetteville.

“During Rochelle’s tenure as Executive Director, the Razorback Foundation recorded the two highest annual fund totals in the organization’s history and saw membership grow to a record of more than 14,500,” the foundation said in a statement. “In 2014-15, the Razorback Foundation and Razorback Athletics combined to raise a record total of more than $47 million in support for more than 460 student-athletes competing at the University of Arkansas.”

Rochelle grew up in Elkins, graduated with an undergraduate degree from Arkansas-Monticello and earned a masters and doctorate degrees from Arkansas.

The foundation’s statement didn’t say who will succeed Rochelle.
