Taste of Crawford County

4 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. -- Sample the Taste of Crawford County for lunch or dinner to benefit CASA of Crawford County. The annual fundraiser will be held at Van Buren High School and feature tastes from area restaurants and caterers. 7 6:30-11 p.m. -- The Sebastian County Humane Society will host Cause for Paws: The Purrfect Picnic at Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith. Carroll County Relay for Life

8 8 a.m.-7 p.m. -- Carroll County Relay for Life will host a barbecue cook-off and craft fair Aug. 8 at the Wheelin' World Off Road Park south of Eureka Springs. The family-friendly day will include children's games and activities such as face painting, water balloons, inflatable rock wall and a bounce house. The event will also feature helicopter rides, vendors, t-shirts and live music. Crafters and barbecue contestants may still enter. Barbecue entry fee is $50 for first meat entered and an additional $25 for each additional meat entered. Options include beef, pork, and chicken. Crafts and vendor booth rental is $10 per space. 22 10 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Dogs can cool off and humans can help raise money to benefit the Prairie Grove Pound at the Soggy Doggy Pool Party at the Prairie Grove Aquatic Center. Entry for the dogs-only swim is $10 for dogs and free for humans.

The sixth annual Fayetteville Roots Festival, a four-day urban music festival, will feature traditional and contemporary food and music. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Feed Fayetteville and other local charities.
