Around 7:30 p.m., Jason Alan Adcock, 31, of Ridgedale, Mo., was driving a 2004 GMC truck south in the northbound lane of U.S. 65 when he collided head-on with a 2007 Toyota traveling north in the northbound lane, the report said. The driver of the Toyota, Terry Lee Stambaugh, 61, was also killed.

Adcock was being chased by deputies from the Taney County, Mo., sheriff's office. Bill Sadler, spokesman for the state police, said Missouri authorities had notified Arkansas law enforcement that they were entering the state in pursuit of Adcock, but Sadler said he did not have details about the circumstances leading up to the crash.

Sadler said state police are not investigating the crash beyond the fatal crash report, which involves both the suspect vehicle and the vehicle in the correct lane of traffic.

At the time of the crash, the weather was clear and the roads were dry.
