Wood wins twice at USA masters track and field meet

Lee Wood was recently hired to start a cross country program at Ecclesia College, but the 35-year-old isn't through competing just yet.

Wood claimed a pair of national titles at last week's USA Masters Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Jacksonville, Fla. He claimed the 800 meters crown in the 30-35-year-old age division, then later in the week won the 1500 meters in the 30-39-year-old age division.

Wood, who ran collegiately at Missouri Southern, won the 800 in 2 minutes, 2.08 seconds, then took the 1500 in 4:12.84, is also still employed as a physical education teacher at Frank Tillery Elementary School in Rogers.
