NLR schedules 3 hearings to set block-grant priorities

The first of three public hearings on housing and community development needs will be for persons and organizations in North Little Rock's Ward 1 at 6 p.m. today at the North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club library, 1212 N. Maple St.

The comment sessions are in conjunction with the city preparing its Five Year Consolidated Plan for 2016-2020 and application for funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnership funds.

Community-wide public hearings are required within the city's Citizen Participation Plan. The purpose of the hearings is to obtain views and comments of persons and organizations relative to needs that may be addressed by the grant funds during the next five years.

Other public hearings will be for Ward 2 at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Rose City Police Substation, 4609 E. Broadway, and for Wards 3 and 4 at 6 p.m. Thursday at North Heights Recreation Center, 4801 Allen St.
