2 killed in Arkansas wreck after Missouri chase

BRANSON — Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision that occurred after a suspect fled from authorities in southwest Missouri.

Terry Lee Stambaugh, 61, of Harrison, and Jason Alan Adcock, 31, of Ridgedale, Mo., were killed in the wreck on U.S. 65, according to a fatal crash report from Arkansas State Police.

Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell told KOLR-TV the incident started Monday evening when deputies were called about a domestic violence situation. Deputies went to the area south of Branson, and saw the suspect's truck on the way.

Russell said when deputies tried to stop the driver, the truck rammed a patrol car, then crossed over into the opposite lane of traffic, going south in the northbound lane. The driver crossed into Arkansas, where his vehicle hit a northbound car head-on.

Adcock was driving the southbound vehicle, a 2004 GMC truck, and Stambaugh was driving the northbound vehicle, a 2007 Toyota, according to the crash summary.
