BBQ BASH

Magic show, Corvette Club flavor BBQ Bash fundraiser

It was a day for family fun at the 11th annual BBQ Bash fundraiser for Families Are Special on July 18 at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock.

There was a magic show and the Central Arkansas Corvette Club had its cars on display. North Little Rock police officer Tommy Norman passed out police badge stickers and helped children make identification kits to take home. After a barbecue lunch, volunteers handed out popsicles.

For the grown-ups, there was a drawing for a barbecue grill, and silent and live auctions. Craig O'Neill served as master of ceremonies and Layton Howell was auctioneer.

Proceeds will go toward the Families Are Special Making Adoption Possible and Affordable Project, which helps make adoption less costly for Arkansas families of average income. The event chairman was Becki Emerson.
