JaMari Monique Baker and William Seth Martin exchanged marriage vows at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in the rooftop garden at the Crowne Plaza in Minneapolis. The father of the groom officiated, assisted by Phillip L. Pointer of St. Mark Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Talaya and Earl Kluttz of Farmington, Minn., and William Ellis Baker of St. Paul, Minn. Her grandparents are Louise and the late Earl Kluttz of Oakboro, N.C.; Brian Massie, Joyce Wiley and Charlene Baker, all of St. Paul, and the late William Price of Alton, Ill.

The groom is the son of Laura and the Rev. Kenneth Martin of Little Rock. His grandparents are Willa and William Webster of Dardanelle and Anita Martin of Lawrence, Kan.

Trumpet vases holding floating candles and lavender rose petals lined the aisle. Vows were exchanged under a pergola decorated in purple chrysanthemum kissing balls and tulle. JaYla and JaShawna Baker of St. Paul, sisters of the bride, greeted guests.

The bride, escorted by her father and stepfather, wore a soft-white strapless gown with a sweetheart bodice and trumpet skirt embellished with lace and rhinestones at the waist. She carried a bouquet of lavender roses, peonies and hydrangeas.

JaKeya Baker of St. Paul served as her sister's maid of honor. Jillian Tredwell of Minneapolis and Morgan Stampley of St. Paul were bridesmaids. They wore lavender chiffon gowns.

JaVey Peters, niece of the bride, was a flower girl. Jae'Vion Massie and Ja'Khi Castile, nephews of the bride, were the ring bearer and announcer for the bride.

Matthew Martin of Des Moines, Iowa, was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Andre Kirkland of Dallas and Kelton Ray of Little Rock.

A reception in the hotel's ballroom followed the rooftop ceremony. Guest tables covered with white and purple cloths were centered with arrangements of peonies, hydrangeas and gardenias in rhinestone-trimmed vases.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in cinema studies from Hampton University in Hampton, Va. She will attend the University of Central Arkansas in Conway to pursue a master's degree in digital filmmaking in the fall.

The groom also has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Hampton. He is pursuing a master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and serves as the college and youth pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in North Little Rock and Conway.

After a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Little Rock.
