Hot Spots

LAKE MAUMELLE White bass are just east of Jolly Rogers Marina and are excellent on CC Spoons, white jigs, Rooster Tails and trolled deep-diving Bandits and Bombers running about 14 feet deep. Spotted bass are excellent on crankbaits and jigs in 5 to 10 feet of water.

BULL SHOALS LAKE Largemouth bass are holding very shallow and can be caught up to 12 feet deep around brush on spinnerbaits, Flukes, Spooks, soft plastic worms and flipping jigs. Smallmouth and spotted bass are holding on the lake side of the brush and are running in 12 to 20 feet of water. Fish parallel to the bank in deeper water with swimming plastics that look like minnows, tubes, Carolina-rigged soft plastics, deep-diving crankbaits and Alabama rigs load with small swimbaits.

BEAVER LAKE Rising water has not affected fishing and plenty of stripers are being caught. They have mostly keyed on shad spawning in freshly flooded vegetation. Stripers have also been feeding heavily on crawfish that are trying to take advantage of the spawning shad and flooded areas with terrestrials that have been submerged all over the lake.Try fishing live shad down to about 30 feet deep or try trolling small umbrella rigs with white or chartreuse grubs, Rapalas and 5- to 6-inch Smithwick Rogues in black- or purple-backed colors.

GREERS FERRY LAKE Hybrids and white bass are schooling at random times of the day around the lake. A lot of small fish are being caught with some bigger ones underneath them. The best bet is during generation with spoons, in-line spinners and swim baits.
