Marquese Gay, 16, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the slaying of Mark Mosley.

Police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan said officers responded Saturday night to 1624 S. Cedar St. and found 20-year-old Mosley lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Mosley was transported to UAMS Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that they were standing with Mosley when a vehicle approached and an occupant began a heated argument with Mosley before shooting him, McClanahan said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gay the next morning. Police reported Monday afternoon that he had surrendered.

Gay, who was last known to live at 2603 Abigail St. in Little Rock, was being held in the Pulaski County jail.

Mosley’s death was the 17th homicide this year in Little Rock.
