• First baseman Dominic Ficociello (Arkansas Razorbacks) was promoted from high-A Lakeland, Fla., to the Class AA Erie SeaWolves by the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. Ficociello hit .293 with 5 home runs and 30 RBI in 87 games for the Flying Tigers. He made his debut with the SeaWolves on Thursday, going 0 for 4 in a 5-2 loss to the Akron RubberDucks (AA Indians).

• Pitcher Hunter Wood (Rogers Heritage) was promoted from Class A Bowling Green, Ky., to the high-A Charlotte Stone Crabs by the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Wood went 1-4 with a 1.82 ERA in 20 games, including 3 starts, for the Hot Rods. He allowed 13 earned runs on 36 hits with 16 walks and 81 strikeouts. Wood earned a victory Friday in his debut for Charlotte, scattering 3 hits over 7 innings with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in a 2-0 victory at Tampa (high-A Yankees).

• Pitcher Jackson Lowery (Arkansas Razorbacks/Central Arkansas/Pulaski Academy) changed teams Thursday but didn't have to move to a new city. Lowery was sent down to the Toronto Blue Jays' Gulf Coast League rookie team from high-A Dunedin, Fla. He went 0-1 with an 18.00 ERA in 2 appearances for Dunedin, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts in 2 innings. Lowery, who had been called up to Dunedin on July 6, took the loss July 9 against the Daytona (Fla.) Tortugas (high-A Reds), allowing 3 earned runs on 2 hits with 3 walks and no strikeouts in one-third of an inning as the Blue Jays lost 5-1.

• Former Arkansas State pitcher Daniel Wright led the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA Reds) to a 4-1 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits (AA Rays) on July 12, beating former Arkansas Razorbacks pitcher Ryne Stanek. Wright went 7 innings, giving up the lone run on 5 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. He improved to 5-7 with a 4.87 ERA. Stanek went 5 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts to fall to 8-5 this season with a 3.09 ERA.
