Campers conclude week with concerts

Festival Day for the annual interfaith Choir Camp will be held July 25 at Subiaco Abbey, 405 N. Subiaco Ave., in Logan County.

Bell choirs and a choral prelude will be featured at 9:40 a.m. in the Abbey Church. A Festival Eucharist will begin at 10 a.m. Music will include “Magnificat” and “Nunc Dimittis” by Malcolm Archer, “Thy Word Is a Lantern” by Henry Purcell and “Arise Shine, for Your Light Has Come” by William Mathias.

A “bring-your-own” picnic will be held on the grounds at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Broadway review.

All are welcome and admission is free.

The week-long music and arts education camp, sponsored by Interfaith Arkansas, was started in 1976 by Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock. About 100 campers in third grade through high school participate each year, as well as counselors and faculty from several states.
