Angela Duran
Where I live: I live in Little Rock's Kingwood neighborhood just west of Cammack Village. It's an older, settled neighborhood with tall trees, winding roads and lots of folks walking their dogs.
Occupation: I am a consultant and the principal of Duran and Associates. We work with nonprofits and government agencies on strategic planning, research and evaluation, and development of programs, projects, and policies and procedures. I spend most of my time right now on the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. Our goal is for all children in Arkansas to read on grade level by the end of third grade.
My favorite space is: My backyard.
Why? My husband and I have two boys, ages 2 and 4, and they have lots of energy. They love to play outside -- climbing, sliding, swinging, running in the sprinkler or blowing bubbles. There are several young children on our block, and the boys like to have them over to join in the fun.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add flowers, plants and trees to the landscape so we have blooms or color year-round, and screen in the patio so we could sit outside on summer nights.
