Capt. Kevin Holt, spokesman for the El Dorado Police Department, said Monday night that 22-year-old Jeremiah T. Green was being held at Union County jail.

Green, a parolee, was booked on charges of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by certain persons and a parole violation.

Police found the victim lying in the parking lot of the Hillsboro Townhouse Apartments. They have not released the victim's name, saying that all of his family members had not been notified. Further details about the case haven't been released by authorities.

The homicide was the second in El Dorado within three days.

Comesico T. Pumphrey, 11, was shot and killed in the area of East Cook Street and Louisiana Avenue on Thursday. Police said he was struck by a stray bullet while standing in his grandmother's yard.

Two men, 20-year-old Shaquille O. Green and 24-year-old Patrick L. Rogers, surrendered to police shortly after the killing. They are being held on charges of capital murder, committing a terroristic act, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by certain persons and engaging in violent criminal group activity.

In their first appearances in court Monday, bail for both men was set at $1 million.

Police said the pair fired shots at each other in and around the 1200 block of East Cook, and a bullet struck Comesico.
