Armstrong agrees to pay fine in deal

State Rep. Charles Armstrong, D-Little Rock, has agreed to pay a $150 fine and receive a public letter of caution from the Arkansas Ethics Commission in a settlement of an ethics complaint filed against him.

Armstrong signed a consent order with the commission acknowledging its finding that he violated state law, according to commission director Graham Sloan. A July 2 letter from Sloan to Armstrong says the legislator missed the deadlines for filing a 2014 statement of financial interest and a campaign finance report after the 2014 primary election.

Armstrong is serving his second two-year term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He could not be reached for comment by telephone Monday.
