Super fans of the "Harry Potter" book series can test their knowledge of the wizarding community against other super fans July 10 at the Bentonville Public Library.

Participants will receive their acceptance letter to Hogwarts and get sorted into one of the school's four houses -- Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin.

"Once in the houses, they will compete in games and trivia against other houses for points," says Heather Hays, reference librarian.

Coloring sheets and puzzles will be available for younger participants, she adds.

At the end of the night, the librarians will declare a house cup winner. The prize will be a coupon to the Friends of the Library Read It Again book store, which is housed in the library, Hays says.

The librarians hope the popularity of the wizarding series brings the magic to this new program for fans of popular books, television shows and comics.

"Such a huge group of people like Harry Potter," Hays says. "It's multigenerational. We have people who grew up on it and people who are new to the series. It is still a high circulation series in the library."

The library previously hosted two other Fandom Fridays -- one for superhero fans and one for "The Walking Dead" fans. Both saw low turnouts, says Dalene Schrier, adult services specialist.

"We are hoping as time goes on and we get more people to find out about it, we'll get more people. Usually it takes a little while to reach the people who want these programs," she adds.

Hays says she is looking into planning additional Fandom Fridays in the fall.

"We will have different fandoms (than the ones scheduled this summer), but we will periodically revisit some of the ones that we see there is a want and a need for," she says. "A lot of the people who come to these type of events are trying to find people who like the same thing as them and want to discuss and enjoy the same events and shows and books that they do."

Harry Potter fans are encouraged to dress in their wizarding best, Hays adds.
