BEAVER LAKE

The high level of Beaver Lake is ideal for setting limb lines to catch catfish.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said good limb-line baits include liver, cut sunfish or live sunfish.

Crappie fishing is slow, he said. A few have been caught with minnows 12 to 18 feet deep. Black bass are slow. Try spinner baits or plastic worms in the green bushes.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said walleye fishing is good. Troll over flats 10 to 25 feet deep with a nightcrawler or bass minnow rigged on a bottom bouncer. Black bass fishing is tough. Try top-water lures early. Catfish can be caught on jug lines baited with liver or sunfish.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Nancy Rose at the Beaver Dam Store said the best lures for trout are small olive jigs or small gold/silver spoons. Fish lures in the current seams during power generation.

The best baits are Power Bait, worms or nightcrawlers. Streamers are the best flies.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE

Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said bluegill are biting best. Use crickets 2 to 8 feet under a float. Try plastic worms for black bass. Catfish are biting liver.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said black bass fishing is good at sunrise and sunset with buzz baits, crank baits and almost any type of lure.

Crappie fishing is fair along the main channel with minnows or jigs 8 feet deep. Catfish are biting well on liver or sunfish.

LAKE ELMDALE

Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said catfish are biting liver or sunfish on yo-yos and limb lines. Black bass are biting buzz baits early. Try a white spinner baits with a rattling arm later in the day. Plastic worms rigged drop-shot or wacky style are working for bass.

SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting top-water lures early and plastic worms later in the day.

ILLINOIS RIVER

Stroud said black bass are biting tube baits, jig and pigs or Rooster Tails.

Bella Vista

Harvey Horne at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is fair with top-water lures early and late. Go with jigs or plastic worms 8 to 20 feet deep at midday. Bluegill fishing is fair with worms or crickets 8 to 12 feet deep. Try liver or nightcrawlers for catfish.

Eastern Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports catfish are biting cut bait or liver. Crappie are fair around docks 10 feet deep with minnows or jigs.
