Where I live: I live in the Allendale neighborhood of Little Rock with my husband, Myron, and our daughter and Myron's son, who is a junior at the University of Central Arkansas.
Occupation: I am the director of public and media relations for The Design Group, LLC.
My favorite space is: My living room.
Why? It's quiet! There's no television. Every other bedroom and living space has a TV. I enjoy the living room because it's a room I can go into and sit with a book and relax. I'm a loner by nature, and this room provides me some solitude. When people come to our home, they bypass the living room and head straight to the family room, where the big-screen TV is. I appreciate that this room is like my own sanctuary. My husband has his own "man cave" with a huge TV (yeah, another one), video gaming and music system. In my line of work, I spend a lot of my time talking with clients and colleagues. When I'm in our living room, I can lounge on our comfy sofa, and it's just me, my thoughts and a good book. Occasionally someone peeks his head around the corner to see what's happening in the "quiet" room. They don't stay long!
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Place a bouquet of fresh flowers on the coffee table every day.
