The track was considerably slower than previous days Sunday but played pretty kindly to horses with speed, which is never unusual. Four of the six sprint winners were on the lead or within one length of the lead at the first call, and two of the runner-up finishers were very close. Five of the six horses who finished in the exacta in three route races were within two lengths at the first call (half-mile), and all took plenty of betting action.
