BASKETBALL

Foley to speak at Tip Off Club

UALR women’s coach Joe Foley will be the guest speaker at today’s Downtown Tip Off Club meeting at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce.

Lunch will be served at 11:15 a.m. and the program will begin at noon. Admission is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Annual membership is $40.

Arkansas men beat New Mexico

The Arkansas men’s team beat New Mexico 4-2 at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Norman, Okla.

David Herrerias’ 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 victory against Jorge Escutia sealed the victory for the Razorbacks (5-2).

Johan den Toom defeated Bart Van Leijsen 7-6, 7-5 and Will Albanese topped James Hignett 0-6, 6-1, 6-3. Giammarco Micolani and Jovan Parlic and den Toom and Albanese earned doubles victories.

Arkansas women top Oklahoma

The Arkansas women’s team extended its winning streak to five matches, beating Oklahoma 4-3 on Sunday in Fayetteville.

Makenzie Craft beat Morgan Chumley in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5 to give Arkansas the victory.

Shannon Hudson, Yuliya Lysa and Sasha Shkorupeieva also earned victories for the Razorbacks on Sunday. Hudnson beat Simran Sethi 6-3, 6-0. Lysa won 6-3, 7-5 against Zita Engbroks while Shkorupeieva earned a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Christina Brigante.

BOWLING

ASU finishes sixth

The Arkansas State women’s team finished in sixth place at the Kutztown Invitational at Heister Lanes in Reading, Pa.

ASU (60-22) won its first match against Vanderbilt 4-3, but lost matches to Maryland Eastern Shore 4-1 and Vanderbilt 4-0.

The Red Wolves return to action Friday at the Prairie View A&M Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
