1 killed in Rogers fire

ROGERS — One person was killed in a house fire Sunday morning, Deputy Fire Chief Bryan Hinds said.

The fire at 607 N. 6th St. was reported after 6 a.m. The caller reported that a person was still inside the house, Hinds said.

When firefighters arrived, the room with the person inside was on fire, he said. One other person was inside the house when the fire started but was not injured.

The identity of the person killed was not being released Sunday morning, Hinds said. County property records show the house is owned by James T. Wilfong and Judy Gayle Wilfong.

Hinds said the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
