Gentry Man Killed In Rollover Crash

GENTRY -- A Gentry man was killed Sunday night in a one-vehicle rollover crash on Arkansas 59, just south of the city.

Bradlee H. Shrum, 26, of 105 S. Collins was northbound in a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander about 9:35 p.m. He failed to negotiate the curve in the new section of highway just south of the intersection of the old highway and Garmon Road, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

Shrum's vehicle "went off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne and overturned approximately three times, ejecting Shrum," according to the report.

Shrum's vehicle was in the east ditch of the highway. Airbags could be seen deployed. It wasn't known Monday if Shrum was wearing a seat belt.

Shrum was under the vehicle when they arrived, according to police.

Shrum was airlifted to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville and later pronounced dead from his injuries.

State Police were assisted by the Gentry and Highfill police. Rescue workers were on scene from the Gentry Fire Department and Siloam Springs Ambulance Service.
