Beaver Lake: Striped bass fishing is good on the south end of Beaver Lake.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said stripers are on the surface and down to 10 feet deep. Anglers are using top-water lures for surfacing stripers or fishing deeper with Alabama rigs, shad or brood minnows.

Fishing is good from Monte Ne upstream into the White and War Eagle river arms. Stripers to 35 pounds have been caught this week.

Crappie fishing is fair with minnows or jigs 10 to 20 feet deep. The U.S. 412 bridge area of the White River arm has been good, Villines said.

Black bass are shallow and biting Alabama rigs, jigs, crank baits and jerk baits.

Kenny Stroud at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said striper fishing is good on the south half of Beaver Lake with shad or brood minnows from the surface to 20 feet deep. The largest stripers are coming in on shad, he said.

Crappie fishing is good in the Horseshoe Bend and Monte Ne areas with minnows or jigs 5 to 10 feet deep.

For black bass, try jigs, jerk baits, crank baits or Alabama rigs.

Beaver Tailwater: Jim Sinclair at the Beaver Dam Store said fly fishing for trout is good with prince nymphs in size 20.

The top bait is white Power Bait. The best lures are Colorado spoons and Trout Magnets.

Lakes Fayetteville, Sequoyah: Both lakes are closed. They will re-open on Jan. 15.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting plastic worms, swim baits or jigs 2 to 20 feet deep.

Bella Vista: Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista reports trout at Lake Brittany are biting Power Bait or small spoons.

Eastern Oklahoma: Stroud said black bass at Lake Eucha are biting jerk baits, crank baits and Alabama rigs.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Grand Lake with minnows or jigs 5 to 15 feet around docks and brush. Catfish are fair on cut bait on the main lake.
