The Shamrock 5K and Running of the Derby Bulls to benefit the Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby will be held March 14 at Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

1 4-7 p.m. -- The 14th annual Northwest Arkansas Soup Sunday will be at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale. The Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families fundraiser will feature dozens of soups from area restaurants with a VIP room offering a special soup by chef Alan Dierks. VIP tickets are $50 and also include dessert, beer and wine. Regular tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets for children 12 or younger are $5. Children 5 or younger are admitted free. Grape Escapes

6 6 p.m. -- Bost's 13th Annual Grape Escapes Fundraiser will be held at the Holiday Inn City Center in Fort Smith. The cocktail style, signature fundraiser will feature the opportunity to sample more than 375 wines from around the world and hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants and caterers. This year's entertainment will include the Don Bailey Jazz Combo and Fort Smith native Jonathan Karrant.

All proceeds benefit Bost to help fund classroom supplies, a fleet of vans and facilities maintenance. Bost serves more than 1,000 individuals with mental, physical and developmental disabilities in 28 counties in Arkansas, with the majority of individuals located in Sebastian and Crawford counties.

7 7:30 p.m. -- The 14th annual Crimson and Cream Scholarship Ball hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta Northwest Arkansas Area Alumnae Chapter will be at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. "An Evening to Dine, Laugh and Dance" will include entertainment by comedian Joe Torry and music by the Anthony Ball Band and DJ Derrick, a cocktail hour and dinner. Tickets are $65. 9 10:30 a.m. -- The Women's Foundation of Arkansas' third annual Power of the Purse Northwest Arkansas luncheon will be held at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. Joan Johnson, co-founder and president of White River Hardwood-Woodworks, will be honored as the Women's Foundation of Arkansas's Woman Business Leader of the Year. Dolly Parton Imagination Library

10 11 a.m.-1 p.m. -- The third annual Bags for Books luncheon and purse auction will be at the Embassy Suites in Rogers to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to boost school readiness. Shamrock 5K Run and Running of the Derby Bulls

14 7 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby will present the inaugural Shamrock 5K Run at 8 a.m. and Running of the Derby Bulls 1-Mile Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Shamrock 5K Run prizes will go to the top three male and top three female runners.

The Running of the Derby Bulls 1-mile Fun Run, inspired by Spain's Running of the Bulls, will feature NWA Roller Derby members and friends wearing bull horns, bearing inflatable bats, ready to chase runners on the fun run. Information: rollerderby.com/shamrock5k.

Kiss a Pig

14 6 p.m. -- The 13th annual Kiss a Pig Gala -- Kapow! fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association, will feature special entertainment by The Wallflowers. The event at the John Q. Hammons Center will also include dinner, live and silent auctions and a chance for fundraising candidates to kiss a pig, the first source of insulin for people with diabetes. U.S. Marshals Stampede: Kickin' Up the Dust

14 7 p.m. -- The inaugural U.S. Marshals Stampede: Kickin' Up the Dust gala to benefit the U.S. Marshals Museum will be held at Kay Rogers Park: The Expo Center in Fort Smith. The evening will feature a casino area with prizes, open bar, mechanical bull riding, live auction, a raffle for a commemorative rifle and a unique piece from Newton's Jewelers and a re-created Old West town.
