Five sent to hospital after Rogers wreck

A four-car accident at 2:29 p.m. near the intersection of Dixieland and Walnut sent five people to the hospital Thursday.

Four patients came from one car.

A 65-year-old woman, 28-year-old woman, a 3-year-old and one-year-old child were taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance.

A 31-year-old man was unconscious when first responders arrived, but regained consciousness, was removed from his vehicle and was taken by air ambulance to Washington Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

He regained consciousness, was removed from his vehicle and an air ambulance landed in a nearby parking lot to transport him. Police said wreck was a chain reaction as the cars rear-ended each other.
