A man jumped out of a moving car and was shot by the driver early Sunday during an attempted drug deal near Club Trois, Little Rock police reported.

Police responded to UAMS Medical Center about 5 a.m. and found that 27-year-old Danny Crook of Little Rock had been shot in the left thigh.

According to a police report, Crook was standing outside Club Trois, 4314 Asher Ave., with two other people when an unknown black man pulled up in a Chevrolet Malibu and asked them if they had marijuana. Crook said, "No," but told the man he had Xanax, according to the report.
