BENTONVILLE -- A Rogers man was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Norman Fred Campion, 44, pleaded guilty Friday to six counts of distributing, possession or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. He pleaded guilty under an agreement his attorney Shane Wilkinson reached with Stuart Cearley.

Campion was arrested April 12, 2014. The arrest came after a person reported reading sexually related email on one of Campion's Apple iPads, according to court documents. The person made the report to the Arkansas State Police Child Abuse Hotline and the case was referred to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Campion gave a deputy permission to search his iPad and the deputy found two images of a young girl, according to probable cause affidavit. Other images was found on a second iPad belonging to Campion, according to court documents.

Circuit Judge Robin Green accepted the plea agreement and Campion's guilty plea.

Campion was sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must abide by a suspended sentence agreement for seven years after his release from prison.

Campion will be required to register as a sex offender. He must also complete the prison's sex offender treatment program or a similar one after his release from prison.

He was ordered not to have any unsupervised contact with any minors.

Campion received 314 days of credit for the time he spent in the Benton County Jail awaiting trial.
