The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., begins a six-week Lenten study at 3 p.m. Thursday. The study, “What Wondrous Love,” is a presentation of the story of Holy Week by the Rev. Liz Wagner, associate pastor. Study books are $5.

The church begins weekly Lenten soup suppers at 6 p.m. Feb. 25.

Benton County

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., offers a newcomers’ orientation at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the parlor.

The church offers free blood pressure checks from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday in the nurse’s office and at 9 a.m. on the last Sunday of the month.

The women’s Bible study recently started an eightweek course on “The God I Never Knew” by Robert Morris. Classes meet at 9:30 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. every Thursday. Cost of the book is $7.

Cups & Croissants meets at 9 a.m. Saturday in McKay Hall. The program is about “mystery personalities.”

Village Bible Evangelical Free Church in Bella Vista, 210 Town Center S.E., sponsors and supports the Oasis Food Pantry, which is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday. Volunteers gather at 10 a.m. every Monday to prepare bags for distribution.

KniTTogether and White Cross, women’s ministries, meet at 7 p.m. each Tuesday to produce hats and scarves for any in need and cloth bandages and other supplies for the Tandala Hospital in Congo, Africa.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 902 S.W. Second St., Bentonville, offers a workshop, “Rediscovering Angels,” from 12:15 to 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. The church holds its monthly potluck meal and Sunday Cinema after the service Feb. 22. “The Great Year,” by Walter Cruttenden and James Earl Jones, considers the movement of the stars and the rise and fall of human civilization.

The church also offers a 12-week class on “Integral Approach to Sustainable Prosperity” developed by the Rev. Doris Hoskins, at 6:30 p.m. March 4. The book costs $45.

Compassion Fayetteville presents a Compassion Cafe on therapeutic foster care from 10 a.m. to noon today at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, 225 N. East St. Therapeutic foster parents receive training to serve children with mental-health challenges. Speakers include Karen Cockrum, case manager and recruitment specialist, and Allie Hennis, the therapeutic foster care program manager and the foster home outreach program director, both with Ozark Guidance in Springdale.
