SPRINGDALE -- Police have identified the man who died Friday night after being hit by a pickup at the intersection of Spring Street and Huntsville Avenue.
Ricky Wade Henry, 62, of Springdale was struck by a Ford F-150 at 7:37 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department. The pickup was traveling east on Huntsville Avenue. There is no crosswalk or stoplight at the intersection.
Hugo Mancia, 31, of Springdale was driving the pickup, according to the release. He was cited for no driver's license and no insurance. He took a field sobriety test and gave breath and blood samples that yielded no clues of intoxication and no blood alcohol content.
As part of standard procedure, blood from Henry and Mancia was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock to test for traces of alcohol or drugs, according to the release.
