Work on Interstates 40 and 430 in North Little Rock will require overnight lane closures next week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
The installation of a precast barrier wall and other work at the I-40/I-430 interchange will require closing the I-40 eastbound and westbound inside lanes near the interchange. It will also require reducing the width of the ramps from I-40 west to I-430 south to Little Rock and from I-430 north to I-40 west to Conway.
Alternating eastbound and westbound inside lane closures will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday and ending Saturday morning, the department said. The westbound lane closures will be between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The work is part of a project that will complete the widening to six lanes from four of I-40 between North Little Rock and Conway. The project, part of the agency's $1.8 billion Connecting Arkansas Program, is anticipated to be complete in 2016.
