Hannon leads Har-Ber turnaround

A headline that appeared in the newspaper on Oct. 17 tells all you need to know about Luke Hannon.

In bold letters it read: ‘Game-Changer’ and was placed above a large photo of Hannon on his back after catching a touchdown pass against Fayetteville. Hannon scored five touchdown and rushed for over 300 yards to lead Har-Ber to a 47-43 victory over the Bulldogs at Wildcat Stadium that night. The victory followed a win at Bentonville and paved the way for Har-Ber’s first outright conference championship. Hannon rushed for 2,073 yards and 14 touchdowns while leading the 7A-West Conference in rushing for the second consecutive year. He also occasionally lined up in the slot and caught 14 passes for 337 yards and six touchdowns, and is this year’s All-NWADG Player of the Year.

Har-Ber (11-2) advanced to the Class 7A state championship game against Fayetteville, which won the rematch 28-7. But the defeat did not diminish a standout season that saw the Wildcats win 11 consecutive games.
