Senior defensive end Chris Stone, 23, and senior wide receiver Tyler Trosin, 22, were booked into the Craighead County Jail at 2 a.m. on charges of possession of less than two grams of methamphetamine or cocaine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and furnishing prohibited articles.

Another passenger, former ASU player Jeremy Fulcher, 21, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Stone, from Daleville, Ala., and Trosin, from Folsom, Calif., were arrested by ASU police early Tuesday morning after a search turned up a small bag of white powder on each player that field-tested positive for cocaine, according to an ASU police report. Both players also had small straws which had residue of a similar substance.

Stone and Trosin appeared at a probable cause hearing in Jonesboro Municipal Court later Tuesday afternoon, where a judge set a $2,000 cash bond. The two were bonded out of jail about 3 p.m., according to a jail employee.

Fulcher, from Dallas, was released at 9 a.m. on $950 bond.

ASU Coach Blake Anderson did not announce any disciplinary action regarding Stone or Trosin in a statement released through the university.

"We are aware of the unfortunate and disappointing incident that occurred this morning with Chris Stone and Tyler Trosin," Anderson said in the statement. "We have notified their families, and we are in the process of gathering all the information. Once we have all the facts surrounding this incident, we will move forward accordingly."

An athletic department spokesman said Anderson was in New York at the National Football Foundation awards dinner and is expected back in Jonesboro on Thursday. ASU begins practice Friday for its New Orleans Bowl game against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 19.

Whether Stone, who has started the past 22 games and 42 games overall, or Trosin, a two-year reserve, are with the team remains to be seen.

According to an ASU police report, Stone was sitting in the driver's seat of a 2006 black Toyota Avalon parked along Longhorn Drive east of Red Wolf Boulevard about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. An officer said in the report that he saw several open containers of alcohol in the car, and when the window was rolled down he "smelled a strong odor of green marijuana."

Fulcher, a member of the team's 2013 practice squad, was sitting in the back seat and admitted to having a small baggie of marijuana, according to the report. Fulcher later produced three small yellow baggies containing a green leafy substance from his sock.

According to the report, the officer later found a short portion of a drinking straw with a white powder on it inside Trosin's right front pocket. When asked what was on the straw, Trosin said he "had done a little coke," according to the report.

A further search of the car turned up a white powder residue that field-tested positive for cocaine on the driver's seat where Stone was sitting, the report said.

While being searched at the Craighead County Detention Center, police found two short straws with a white powder residue on Stone, according to the report, and retrieved a small baggie that contained a white powder substance that weighed 0.4 grams from Stone's sock.

Police also found a small bag of white powder that weighed 0.2 grams white powder in the pocket of the shorts Trosin was wearing underneath his pants, according to the report.

Stone, a preseason first-team All-Sun Belt Conference pick, has been a key contributor for ASU's defense this season. He has 31 tackles (7 1/2 for a loss), 1 1/2 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown in ASU's 40-27 victory over Appalachian State on Nov. 5.

Trosin has caught 8 passes for 113 yards this season.
