A Fayetteville man was arrested in connection with possession of cocaine Saturday night in downtown Fayetteville.

Dillon Allwine, 21, of 1777 Garland in Fayetteville was arrested Sunday in connection with possession of a controlled substance.

A witness at You Know Uno, 326 N. West Ave. No. 12, told officers Allwine had been in a restroom stall with another person, saw the nearby officer, dropped a small plastic bag filled with a powdery substance and took off running, according to a preliminary police report. Officers located Allwine in front of Z330, 339 N. West Ave.. One of the officers asked Allwine to tip his head back so they could see up his nose and Allwine refused, burying his head in his chest, according to the police report.

The bag Allwine dropped was later determined to be filled with cocaine and weigh 1.2 grams, according to the report.

Allwine was released Sunday from the Washington County Detention Center on a $3,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County Circuit Court on Sept. 30.
