The injured star running back received a hand-written letter from SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey Friday, of which he posted a picture on Twitter.

"Thought I'd send a note after I learned of your foot injury," Sankey wrote. "I hope the recovery has already started and wish you all the best and a speedy return to full speed."

Williams was injured in a scrimmage Aug. 15 and had surgery to insert two screws into his left foot to help ligaments heal.

The recovery is expected to take 4-5 months, but Williams said Thursday that he hopes to play at Arkansas again this year. If he recovers completely, he said he would likely enter the NFL draft instead of returning for a fifth season with the Razorbacks.

Despite being a projected third-round pick in this year's draft, Williams opted to return to school after rushing for 1,190 yards last season.

He and Alex Collins were the only pair of teammates to rush for 1,000 yards in 2014.
