Sports Hall of Honor Golf Tournament

Razorback Foundation

4 9 a.m. -- The Razorback Foundation will host a golf tournament at the Fayetteville Country Club in conjunction with the induction of nine new members to the University of Arkansas Hall of Honor. Tournament registration is $350 per golfer or $1,400 for a team of four. Information: (479) 443-9000.

Polo in the Ozarks

12 4 p.m. --The 26th annual Polo in the Ozarks will be held at the Buell farm in Goshen. The polo grounds are approximately 5 miles east from the intersection of Arkansas 45 and Arkansas 265 in the Polo Country Estates. The family-friendly event will include a live polo match, tailgate parties, children's activities, dancing and live and silent auctions. There will also be a best hat contest for ladies and a bow tie contest for gentlemen.

Tickets for the polo match and tailgating only are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 7 to 12. Admission is free for children 6 and younger. Admission to the full event -- polo match, dinner and dance -- is $100 for adults and $25 for children ages 7 to 12. Tailgate for a Cause

12 6:30-10:30 p.m. -- The inaugural Tailgate for a Cause to benefit the Donald W. Reynolds Crisis Intervention Center will be held at Golden Living in Fort Smith. The evening will feature a silent auction, live entertainment from Boom Kinetic, dinner and games. Guests are encouraged to sport their favorite team attire. Tickets are $50 or $400 for a table. Patriot Day Event

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance will hold a a family fun day and motorcycle and car poker run on Sept. 12 and a golf tournament on Sept. 14.

12 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. -- Children will have the chance to sit in fire trucks, ambulances and other First Responder vehicles, put on military gear and participate in other children's activities at the Bentonville Municipal Airport. The family event will also include an aerobatic flight team, sky diving demonstrations, K9 and rescue demonstrations, bounce houses and live music from 8Ball Entertainment. All activities are free, but donations are welcome.

12 8:30 a.m. -- The Patriot Day poker run will start from Heritage Indian Motorcycles of Northwest Arkansas. Registration is $20 for single bike or car and $30 for double bike or car and includes patch, meal, drinks and snacks.

14 8 a.m. -- The four-person scramble will be played at Shadow Valley Country Club in Rogers. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place for best overall teams, hole in one and closest to the hole. Registration is $150 per player by Aug. 20 and $175 after or $600 for a team of four.

15 6-8:30 p.m. -- The annual Chefs in the Garden fundraiser for the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville will be held at the garden. Local celebrities will try to match wits with Haas Hall Academy's state champion Quiz Bowl team. Contestants will be Sam Dean, Missy Clifton, Michael Dastugue, John James and Kelly Zega with John Threet as master of ceremonies. Charity Challenge of Champions

24-26 -- Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers

The Charity Challenge, held every September at Pinnacle Country Club, includes tennis, golf and social events. Now in its 24th year, the event secures much needed funding for the Arkansas Crisis Center, which helps veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorders, to suicide prevention, to helping kids cope with abusive situations, the Arkansas Crisis Center is there 24/7 for anyone in the state that needs them.
