3 arrested nearby in gas-mart holdup

Police arrested three men Monday night in the armed robbery of a Little Rock gas station.

Officers responded about 10:12 p.m. to an alarm at Fast Mart, 4920 Baseline Road. The store's owner said three men had stolen beer and pulled out a gun when he confronted them, according to arrest reports. No injuries were reported.

Anthony Brown, 33, Marlon James, 44, and James' son, Tramel James, 25, had been pulled over near the store shortly after the robbery, the reports state. Police viewed surveillance video of the holdup and developed the men as suspects.

Officers reported finding a handgun in the vehicle. The gun had been reported stolen in Conway.

Brown and the Jameses were charged with aggravated robbery and theft by receiving. The Jameses, who had been on parole, were additionally charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons.

The three were being held in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday.

Theft suspect jailed after Target tussle

North Little Rock police arrested a Hot Springs man Tuesday on accusations that he took items from Target and then punched a woman in the face several times before trying to flee.

Officers were called to the Target at 4000 McCain Blvd. about 2 p.m. after a man was stopped by someone in the store who said he saw the man conceal items, according to an arrest report. The man then reportedly punched a woman in the face several times, the report said. The report does not say whether the woman was an employee or a shopper.

The man then tried to flee the store but was tackled by another shopper who detained him and was held by the shopper and the man who initially stopped him until police arrived.

According to reports, the man told one of his captors he "was going to get his gun and shoot him when he gets out of jail."

Police arrested the suspect, Keithen Jones, 47, and took him to the Pulaski County jail on charges of robbery and terroristic threatening. He was still on the jail's roster Tuesday night.

McDonald's worker held as laptop thief

A McDonald's employee is accused of stealing a customer's laptop computer, then fleeing Monday in Little Rock, police reported.

Officers were called at 12:39 p.m. to the fast-food restaurant at 11500 W. Markham St. A restaurant manager, Lyndsey Young, 26, said an employee had been working when he ran out of the eatery with a laptop, according to a police report.

The owner of the laptop, Tarron Johnson, 31, said he chased the thief to another restaurant nearby and took back the computer after a struggle, according to the report.

Police found the suspect, Jabari Ward, 18, after a brief search. Officers chased him behind a sporting-goods store east of the McDonald's and arrested him, the report states.

Ward was charged with robbery, fleeing, theft of property, resisting arrest and third-degree battery. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday.

Search said to yield drugs at NLR home

A North Little Rock man was arrested after police executed a search warrant on his home and found heroin, crystal methamphetamine and other drugs, according to an arrest report.

At about 7:20 Tuesday morning, officers searched a home at 4700 N. Locust St. and reported finding about 3 grams of heroin, less than 1 gram of methamphetamine, small amounts of another Schedule I drug, drug paraphernalia and a shotgun.

Aaron Lyman, 34, was arrested and booked into the Pulaski County jail where he remained Tuesday night. His charges are possession of firearms by certain persons, maintaining a drug premises, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance that is not methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver.
