GRAVETTE -- State Rep. Kim Hendren, R-Gravette, will seek re-election, he announced this week.

Hendren, 77, represents western Benton County's House District 92. He is the father of state Sen. Jim Hendren, R-Sulphur Springs, and brother-in-law of Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Although eligible for more terms under the recently extended limits, Hendren said he will turn 80 years old in office if re-elected and that is enough. His political career began in 1979 and has included two stints in the state Senate.
