BEAVER LAKE

Catfish are biting live bait on limb lines, trotlines and jug lines.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said goldfish or sunfish are the best baits. Good baits for rod and reel catfishermen are stink bait and nightcrawlers.

Black bass fishing is slow. The best lure is a small plastic worm on a drop-shot rig. Fish along points. Spotted bass have been caught deep as 60 feet with the drop-shot rig, Whittle said.

Stripers are biting in the Lost Bridge and Beaver Dam areas. Use brood minnows or shad 25 feet deep. Troll crank baits behind downriggers as deep as 50 feet.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Nancy Rose at the Beaver Dam Store said the top baits for trout are worms or Power Bait in bright colors.

Good trout lures include small olive or black jigs, small spoons and Trout Magnets. Top flies are midges and woolly buggers. Try Clouser minnows during power generation.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE

Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said catfish are biting fair on worms. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms. Black bass are biting plastic worms.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said a 52-pound blue catfish was caught Tuesday on shad. Liver or shad are good catfish baits.

Black bass are biting a variety of lures. Crappie are biting jigs eight feet deep along the main channel.

LAKE ELMDALE

Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said a 5.3-pound largemouth bass was caught last weekend on a 7-inch plastic worm. White spinner baits worked slowly and deep are also effective for bass.

Crappie can be caught eight feet deep on jigs tipped with a crappie nibble. Try stink bait for catfish.

SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs suggests tr ying top-water lures at dawn and dusk.

Illinois River Stroud recommends using tube baits, jig and pigs or Rooster Tails for black bass.

BELLA VISTA

Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker said black bass are biting at Loch Lomond on jigs or top-water lures. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms at all Bella Vista lakes 12 feet deep. Use nightcrawlers or shrimp for catfish.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Grand Lake 15 feet around docks with minnows or jigs. Catfish are biting cut bait 15 feet deep.
