Five people have been arrested on suspicion of killing a 24-year-old Fayetteville woman Wednesday, according to news releases and documents from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Victoria Davis, 24, was found dead in the house at 455 S. Hill Ave. with injuries indicative of blunt force trauma from an object, according to a preliminary arrest report. Police found her body after somebody called dispatch and said he had killed his wife.

John Davis, 27, Christopher Treat, 29, Mark Chumley, 45, and Desire Treat, 29, of Fayetteville, were arrested on suspicion of capital murder, tampering with physical evidence and engaging in violent criminal group activity, according to the news release.

Rebecca Lloyd, 36, also of Fayetteville, was arrested later after being implicated in the crime, according to a subsequent news release. She faces the same charges as the four others.

Several other people “independently implicated” Lloyd in the crime, the arrest report shows. Lloyd later gave police details that placed her at the crime scene, the report shows. Lloyd also admitted that she participated in the beating and helped the others dispose of evidence, according to the arrest report.

According to a preliminary arrest report, John Davis had wounds on his face when authorities arrived and was taken to the hospital. During the ambulance ride, Davis "uttered multiple statements that implicated him in the death of the deceased female," according to the arrest report.

During an interview with detectives, Davis told detectives he and three others kept Victoria Davis captive and beat her for several hours before destroying physical evidence at the crime scene.

"Evidence revealed an extremely violent crime had taken place," the arrest report stated.

Correction: A previous version of this story had the incorrect first name for the man taken to the hospital. The error has been corrected.
