St. Francis County wrecks result in 3 men's deaths

Three people were killed in crashes in St. Francis County on Thursday, according to reports released by Arkansas State Police.

A Forrest City man was killed in a one-car crash on Arkansas 38 in Widener early Thursday morning.

Justen C. Williams, 31, was driving a 2012 Audi Q5 east on Arkansas 38 about 12:26 a.m. when he crossed graded railroad tracks at a "high rate of speed" and lost control of the car, causing it to leave the road and hit a tree, according to a report.

Williams was taken to Forrest City Medical Center where he later died.

Two drivers were killed in another crash in the county Thursday.

According to a crash report, Roland W. Leslie, 66, of Wynne was driving a 2013 GMC Denali north on Arkansas 1 when he traveled across the center turn lane and hit a 2009 Cadillac DTS driven by James E. Crumpton, 55, of Forrest City.

After the crash, both cars overturned and the Cadillac caught on fire. Crumpton was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.

Leslie was flown to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis where he was pronounced dead.

Roads were dry and weather conditions clear at the time of both crashes.
