Science is back--and with it calm

Despite all the fears that a big hog farm/factory at Mount Judea represents a threat to the whole Buffalo River watershed--natural enough fears exploited by the usual true believers--not one but two federal agencies have reached the same decision handed down back in 2012:

The construction and ongoing operation of the C&H hog farm did not and is not expected to result in any irreversible or irretrievable resource commitments.

That's scientific for: Relax, folks. A second and even more detailed look at the data has essentially repeated the findings of the first.

This latest assessment of the minimal risk involved in allowing the endangered species called Homo Sapiens to carry on with its business at the hog farm included surface water, groundwater and soils in the surrounding area, and determined that no action is needed when it comes to safeguarding any of those natural resources.

By all means, continue to carry out these environmental tests, but there's no need to get carried away,

Latest score in this long, long match: Science 1, Ideology 0.
