Benton County Sheriff's Office arrests local bondsman

BENTONVILLE -- A bondsman of Exit Bonding Company was arrested in connection with two felonies and two misdemeanors Monday, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Joshua Bradley, 29 of Centerton, was arrested in connection with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, as well as DWI drugs and public intoxication, both misdemeanors, Benton County Sheriff Kelley Cradduck announced at a 5 p.m. news conference Monday.

A clerk noticed Bradley acting erratic -- biting his lip, twitching and being agitated -- in the Sheriff's Office lobby while bonding out an inmate, Cradduck said. The clerk notified Deputy Zach Johnson of his strange behavior.

Johnson approached Bradley, who then admitted to being on methamphetamine and gave deputies consent to search his car. Deputies found a semi-automatic handgun, a shotgun and several badges, including his bail bondsman badge, a Conway County Sheriff's Department identification card and a Securitas Security Officer badge, in his car, Cradduck said. He also possessed a concealed carry license.

Bradley had been a deputy for Conway County Sheriff's Department but Cradduck said he didn't know if he worked or works for Securitas.

A small baggie of methamphetamine was also confiscated from Bradley's sock when he was being admitted into jail, according to Cradduck.

"He as been cooperative. He has answered all our questions...He will have a bond hearing within 48 hours," Cradduck said. "I am not going to cite him out."
