Third annual Midtown Music Showcase fundraiser

Midtown Music Showcase, held in the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center off of College Avenue, is happening Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2-5 p.m. Ozark Natural Foods will host the 2015 Annual Owners Meeting from noon-2 p.m. and have a complimentary meal for owners.

The mission of Midtown Music Showcase is to help revitalize Fayetteville's Midtown area by bringing together local artists and businesses to generate funding for a higher purpose.

There is no admission fee and there will be food, games, kids activities and music. A limited supply of Midtown Music Showcase t-shirts are available for $20. All t-shirt proceeds go to Apple Seeds Inc.

Local musicians will provide live entertainment with Cutty Rye performing from 2-3:30 p.m. and Rochelle Bradshaw & Hypnotion performing from 3:45-5 p.m.

The event will be raising money for the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust, a local nonprofit, non-governmental conservation organization that conserves land for ecological, scenic, historic, agricultural and recreational purposes in Northwest Arkansas. Founded in 2003 in response to the rapid development of the region, they are the first local land trust in Arkansas and the 301st in the country to be accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

"Displaying the seal of accreditation means that we meet the highest professional standards in every aspect of our work, and we can pass that confidence along to our landowners, donors and regional conservation partners." said executive director Terri Lane.

Midtown Music Showcase will raise money for NWA Land Trust through a silent auction, dunk tank tickets and a percentage of sales from a beer garden sponsored by Apple Blossom Brewing Company.

Midtown Music Showcase is currently looking for local sponsors for the event, as well as local celebrities to sit in the dunk tank throughout the event to raise money for Northwest Arkansas Land Trust. Those interested in signing up for a booth at the event, sponsoring the event or sitting in the dunk tank can contact the event coordinator Lisa Garrett at [email protected] or by calling (479) 521-7558.
